Amaury Peeters

Biography: 

Amaury Peeters is a Bio-engineer specialised in land use planning who holds a complementary research Master in Development, Environment and Societies and a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL). As a scientist of the UCL Geomatics group of the Earth and Life Institute, he has undertaken different research studies on rural development issues combining cartographic and socioeconomic approaches, as well as studies on land use planning and GIS.

During his research work, he focused on the understanding the land use dynamics by bringing socioeconomic and geomatics disciplines together and on the analysis of changes in rural households’ farming and activity system related to urban development. He has an important field work experience in both rural Cambodia and Vietnam.
