SNIS Project on Food Price Volatility Presented at FAO, Rome

Dr Matthias Huss (University of Zurich, Department of Informatics) will present the research carried out in Tanzania on the effects of improved on-farm storage on local market prices and farmer’s food security at an official side-event to the Committee on World Food Security (CFS). Participants will learn about recent experiences and innovations in reducing grains post-harvest losses, and the leverage they present in achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. The CFS is the foremost inclusive international and intergovernmental platform for all stakeholders to work together to ensure food security and nutrition for all. The University of Zurich organises this event in collaboration with international key actors engaged in policy, business and development programmes on post-harvest losses, including the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), Biovision Foundation, Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation, Rockefeller Foundation, Vestergaard S.A., and the UN World Food Programme (WFP).
