Marco Tulio Antonio García-Zapata
Professor Marco Tulio Antonio Garcia-Zapata, MD, PhD, is a Head Professor, Principal Researcher and Medical Tropicalist Doctor and Biologist (UPCH, 1976), specialized in Internal, Tropical Medicine and Public Health (UPCH, 1980; UnB, 1984, UFMG, 1990) and (Re)Emergent Diseases. Post-Doctor (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, 1998), with extensive national and international experience on bio-eco-epidemiology of (re)emergent diseases and international & travel medicine. He is an external collaborator of the Peruvian by birth and Brazilian by naturalization, is the link between the Brazilian and the Peruvian research teams (Alexander von Humboldt`s Tropical Medicine Institute of Lima). He is the founder and leader of the Reference Sentry Unit for International and Travel Medicine (USCREMIVI) at the Tropical Pathology & Public Health Institute (IPTSP) of the Federal University of Goias (UFG).
