Technical Cooperation and Capacity Building in International Economic Law, Negotiations and Dispute Settlement: Lessons Learnt and Opportunities Ahead

International Geneva Incubator Workshop

organised by the Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies

 The workshops aims at looking at efforts and methods utilized to date to increase development countries' legal capacities to engage in and actively participate in international agreements in the field of trade, investment and economic cooperation. 

 

Experts of World Trade Organization, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), International Trade Center (ITC), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) will be invited to investigate on efforts and methods utilised to date, discussing lessons learnt and formulating best practices moving forward. Special attention will be paid to new technologies such as online courses and platforms. Selected participants from outside Geneva will also be included (World Bank, International Chamber of Commerce and ICC World Chambers Federation).

The first part of the workshop will be restricted to experts, whilst the final panel on 7 March (12.00 - 14:00) will be open to a wider audience.
