International Geneva Incubator Workshop
organised by the Law Faculty of the University of Basel
The Workshop will address the challenges posed to the law by current developments in the area of Intelligent Agents. The main questions addressed during this one-day event are: Who is liable if things go wrong? Who is to be held liable? And which laws will apply given that Internet does not know borders? Can the traditional categories of criminal guilt be applied in such instances? The question of liability of machines also leads to the question of responsibility for negligence by the human who created the artificial intelligence; but is it feasible, legal and wise to allocate guilt in this way? And what are the internationally acknowledged standards for this?
