Swiss Global Change Day - Poster Session and Awards - 16.04.2013

The Swiss Global Change Day, organised by the Swiss Academy of Sciences, will take place on 16 April in Bern. The event offers a platform where the Science Community of all disciplines meets and interacts. Keynote speakers encompass topics of the physical climate system, the biochemical and geochemical processes and impacts, biodiversity and the human dimensions of global change. The poster session reflects the current research activities. Seven travel awards honour the most attractive and comprehensive posters. Deadline for poster submission: 6 April 2013 |

The Graduate Institute in Geneva welcomes international senior undergraduate and graduate students to short programmes during the summer period. Summer Programme on International Affairs and Multilateral Governance Summer Programme on the WTO, International Trade and Development Both programmes are delivered by the Graduate Institute's regular faculty. They include visits and meetings with senior officials from Geneva-based international organisations. Participants can earn up to 9 european credits. Skilled Indian Migration and Development: To Europe and Back

The International Migration Branch of the International Labour Office (ILO) and the Cooperation and Development Center at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) invite to a round-table discussion on the subject of "Skilled Indian Migration and Development: To Europe and Back"
Venue: Friday, 1 March 20130 - 09:00 - 16:30
This round-table takes place in the framework of the SNIS funded research project "Migration, Scientific Diasporas and Development - Impact of skilled return migration on development in India". The project is conducted by EPFL and ILO in collaboration with the Institute of Development Studies Kolkata (IDSK), and the International Migration and Diasporas Studies (IMDS) Project of the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi. The policy report resulting from the project will be presented at this event.

SNIS Award 2013 for the Best PhD Thesis in International Studies

The SNIS is currently launching the fourth edition of the SNIS Award, valued at CHF 5'000. The SNIS Award prizes the best thesis received in a Swiss University on a subject related to international studies. Entrants must have received their PhD degree in 2012 with "summa cum laudae" or a mark equal or superior to 5.5. Submitted PhD thesis can deal with a wide range of academic disciplines, such as political science, economics, sociology, social and cultural anthropology, law, history, geography, environmental sciences, and related areas. The deadline for the application is 8 April 2013 view detailed submission criteria and accede to the on-line submission platform |
